Itagaki Reveals New Details About Devil’s Third

None

Upcoming Valhalla Studio’s game Devil’s Third was going to be the big new Japanese-made third-person shooter in 2012. Now, it’s going to be the big new Japanese-made third-person shooter in 2013. According to a recent interview with Tomonobu Itagaki, former lead of Team Ninja and current Valhalla head honcho, the game is only about 20-30 percent done right now, so it won’t be able to make it’s originally projected 2012 release date.

In addition, Itagaki also said some things that should make Nintendo fans excited. Though he didn’t outright confirm Devil’s Third for the Wii U, he said he was excited at the prospect of bringing the game to Nintendo’s new system. Apparently Itagaki is a big fan of the new system, and he feels it was made with the Japanese market in mind. Since his game too is being made with the Japanese market in mind, the two would be a good fit.

He went on to comment that the Wii U’s ability to shift the game to a portable screen is what interests him the most, as Japanese homes are traditionally small and do not have room for multiple TVs. He thinks it can revitalize the currently floundering Japanese console market.

He also said that the Devil’s Third team is aiming to integrate 32-man online multiplayer, though the main campaign will be single-player only. More details are expected to be unveiled during the Tokyo Game Show this September.
