While Duke Nukem Forever’s critical impact might have been somewhat muted, it appears that the Duke’s financial imprint will be sizable. And that may have publisher Take-Two squirming. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter puts it in perspective, indicating that the game’s negative press has likely had a negative impact on sales, cutting estimates from 3 million units shipped to 1.5 million—a drop of fifty percent. This more than accounts for the half million units L.A. Noire sold over projections, putting Pachter’s revenue estimates for Take-Two’s first quarter down to $350 million from its original $375 million.
