Despite the licensing rights fracas raging between Bethesda and Interplay over Fallout, Interplay has gone ahead and hired Masthead Studios to bring their Project: V13 (almost certainly a Fallout MMO) to life. According to a report from Massively, terms of the agreement between Interplay and Masthead have not been disclosed, but the online ‘zine has quoted Herve Caen, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, as saying “This MMOG will have many unique features that we will disclose before launch of the public Beta in 2012.” We also know from IGN that Mr. Caen has brought on Masthead specifically because their “technology is impressive and perfect for our Project: V13,” and because Masthead “is passionate to bring our [Interplay’s] vision and game play to the market.” So it looks like the Mayans were right: we may be headed for the apocalypse in 2012 after all!
