Itagaki Regains Devil’s Third

It’s no new news to report on THQ’s financial woes, as the company scrambles to release a big hit or two that can improve its fiscal standing. It is news, however, to state that Devil’s Third will officially no longer be one such title. Word flew months ago that THQ would be selling off the property, but the buyer wasn’t known and the sale hadn’t become official until just now.



The mystery buyer? Itagaki’s Valhalla Studios, which now holds the publishing rights to the property and may do with it as they wish. Given the young and vulnerable state of the development studio, however, it seems likely that Itagaki and his team will be searching for a new publisher as soon as possible, especially considering how far off Devil’s Third is from potential release, and that, until it’s out the door, the studio doesn’t really have any income of which to speak.
