Jaffe Talks Twisted Metal

None

Despite David Jaffe’s repeated denials of the existence of a new Twisted Metal before E3, the game was officially announced at the conference, much to the surprise of everyone but Jaffe. While he preferred to remain tightlipped about the game prior to the announcement, his dam of silence has been broken and details about the game are flowing. Kotaku has found some interesting twitter posts from the developer that outline a few details about the upcoming title.

Jaffe wrote “The stories and world and characters are VERY important to us, BUT the bread and butter is (multiplayer) so made more sense to put much effort into the levels and design and modes and balance vs. tons of time making more and more factions that really don’t affect play at all.”

He went on to detail the game’s four factions as Clowns, Dolls, Skulls, and Holy Men and also explained “You will not have 16 unique characters for each of the 16 vehicles,”. According to Jaffe, we can also expect to have the option of local multiplayer as well as a different version of Calypso noting “NOT (Twisted Metal Black) Calypso at all. Really didn’t love that spin on him.”
