David Jaffe Leaving Eat Sleep Play

David Jaffe Leaving Eat Sleep Play

None

Eat Sleep Play, the developer of Twisted Metal, is going to be shifting its focus soon. According to a recent report, the studio will be devoting the majority of its efforts on developing mobile games for platforms such as the iPhone and iPad.

Eat Sleep Play co-founder Scott Campbell had this to say about the switch in focus. “It’s a platform that is in our pockets almost 24/7. It’s kind of the size and types of games we’re playing. You can certainly reach a lot more people. That’s pretty exciting for us.”

David Jaffe, studio co-founder and mastermind behind Twisted Metal, will be one of the many people leaving the studio as a result of the focus switch. Some outlets have reported that Jaffe too would be leaving to pursue games for casual gaming audiences. However, Jaffe said on his Twitter account “The rumors of me making casual games post TM- as many of you define them- are highly exaggerated.” Perhaps this means this won’t be Twisted Metal’s last hurrah, even if it may be Eat Sleep Play’s.
