Mario Paint is an art creation game developed by Nintendo Research & Development 1 and Intelligent Systems. Mario Paint is more of an art program than a video game, it has a graphics editor, an animation program, a composing DAW, and even a point-and-click game on top of it all. The “games” were designed around the SNES Mouse an alternate controller that was packaged and sold with it. The resources included in the game are either ripped from Super Mario World or fit that specific style of Mario.
The game sold very well and is considered one of the best-selling SNES games. The game was released to positive reviews. It was praised for its features and innovation but it was criticized for its limitations completely stifling its potential as creative software.

The Premise Of Mario Paint
Mario Paint‘s gameplay depends on what you’re interested in. There’s a fly-swatting mini-game called Gnat Attack that helps players become accustomed to the SNES mouse. You have to swat 100 insects before fighting a boss and upon beating the mini-game’s three levels it restarts with faster insects. In the game’s coloring book program, you can color and edit pre-made drawings. In the drawing board program, you can choose from 15 colors and 75 patterns to draw original paintings. You can combine this with the Animation Land program to create four-, six-, and/or nine-frame animations. The music composer allows you to write music pieces either in common time or triple time. There are 15 instruments to choose from and the pieces you make can be played in Animation Land and the coloring book.
