Metal Gear Survive Might Have a Hidden Message

Metal Gear Survive Might Have a Hidden Message

We all know about the extremely public falling out between Konami and Metal Gear figurehead Hideo Kojima. Metal Gear Survive is sort of a byproduct of it, although there’s no way to know what the timeline of it’s existence was. However, we do know hints and pieces of the working conditions at Konami, and what appears to be a hidden message in the opening moments of Metal Gear Survive suggests the staff isn’t happy about things either.

Early in Metal Gear Survive , there’s a quick shot of a clipboard with a list of names on it. Pointed out by Michael Yurko on Twitter, the initials for the names on the clipboard spell out “KJP FOREVER.” KJP, of course, being an abbreviation for Kojima Productions. The clipboard also says “Bastard Yota” and “Cunning Yuji,” the names Yota Tsutsumizaki and  Yuji Korekado being those of Metal Gear Survive’s director and producer, respectively.

When Metal Gear Survive ends, there’s also a “Special Thanks” portion of the credits that lists “ Metal Gear Solid V All Staff.” Could this all be acts of defiance by a beaten-down surviving Kojima Productions staff? Or are proponents of a certain anti-Konami hashtag digging for dirt where it might not be?
