Minecraft finally has a release date! Though this seems a little weird since 2 million people have been playing the game for several months, the game has technically been in beta this entire time. So, when can you get your hands on the full version? November 11th, 2011. Or as all us cool hipsters are referring to it, 11/11/11.  So what’s the big difference between the aforementioned beta version and the full retail release? We’ll let Markus “Notch” Persson (the guy who invented Minecraft) break it down for you: ” the version we deem as the ‘full version’ won’t be very different at all from what the game was like a week ago, and we’ll keep adding features after the release as well, so it’s really more of a milestone when we finally get rid of the Beta label.” So, the game won’t change except for the removal of the “Beta” label. That’s awesome…I guess. |
