In Japanese retailer Geo’s recent financial briefing, found by Siliconera, a few interesting bits were discovered. Most notably, both an unannounced PSP 4000 model and Nintendo’s 3DS are intended to be in stock before the end of the year. While many have speculated at a holiday release for the 3DS in at least one territory, a new PSP model seems like a surprise. Sure, we’ve been anticipating an announcement out of Sony about the future of their handheld; but I have to believe most were assuming that we’d see a successor to the PSP, not just a new model. We’ll let you know either way as soon as Sony makes an official announcement.  |
