Say what you will about Double Fine. It’s never had a crowdfunding campaign fail. They tend to go above and beyond and, while Psychonauts 2 wasn’t one of its biggest successes, it passed its funding goal. The Fig campaign ended January 12 with $3,829,024 raised. 24,109 people ended up backing the project.
Perhaps as something of a reward, more story details have been revealed about Psychonauts 2 . Raz is at Psychonauts headquarters for the first time with Sasha and Milla, but something is wrong. Necromancy is being funded, while peacekeeping and research are not. Agents are behaving strangely. Not to mention, his own family’s curse is somehow tied into everything going on.
If all goes well, Psychonauts 2 should hopefully be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One by Fall 2018.
