Double Fine has done it again. The company managed to reach crowdfunding goals to ensure another one of its games will be made. Psychonauts 2 has passed $3.3 million dollars, the exact amount of money needed to make sure the game is funded by the January 12 due date.
That $3.3 million is divided into two kinds of funding. With Fig, the platform Double Fine used, people can either contribute small or large amounts of money to Psychonauts 2 . The larger contributions are treated as investments and can receive a share of the game’s net sales. Over $1.60 million came from regular backers and over $1.69 million from investors.
It’s possible to still help back Psychonauts 2 . The smallest contribution needed to guarantee a PC copy of the game is $39, which gets you Psychonauts and the sequel, as well as your name in the credits. The game should hopefully be released in the third quarter of 2018.
