I could write an entire article about how to enjoy Rainbow Six Siege in spite of its many bugs and glitches. If you see a smoky loading screen without the R6 loading logo, immediately close and re-open the game; it’s frozen. If you’re going to go into matchmaking with friends, don’t make a squad of four unless you want to spend your night chatting in the matchmaking screens, waiting for the game to find one additional member for your sqaud. If you get stuck “synchronizing” at the end of a match, forget the renown and leave; it’ll never fully synchronize. Unfortunately these are just a few of the many admonitions I give to new players who are trying their damndest to enjoy this wonderful game.
Ubisoft knows that its game is incredible, and it knows that we’re pissed off about how hard it is to play. We’ve seen a few posts on the official support forums acknowledging the bigger issues, with a rough timeline hinting at when Ubi hopes to have fixes implemented. We’re making some encouraging progress, and blowing some more wind into our sails is patch 1.2, which is rolling out immediately for PC players, and next week for console players. While this isn’t a fix-all patch, it is addressing some of the known issues with hit registration and matchmaking. For full patch notes and some hilarious mixed reactions from players, check out the official post on the support forums here .
