Sagat Confirmed In Street Fighter X Tekken

None

Following his appearance alongside Tekken’s Bob on Street Fighter X Tekken’s character select screen, Sagat appears to be Capcom’s newest addition to the Street Fighter side of the bracket. A brand new trailer released today, showing familiar white wrappings on a hand and a foot. Most telling, though, is the pastiche of images portraying a very familiar Buddhist statue. It’s all but certain that players will soon be throwing Tiger uppercuts and Tiger knees along with their Hadokens and Shoryukens.

Sagat isn’t, inherently, a major surprise. He’s one of Street Fighter’s staple characters and has the noteworthy distinction of having appeared opposite Ryu in the original game. He also returned for the seminal Street Fighter II, an honor shared only with the Street Fighter poster-boy and his friend/rival, Ken. The images of the statue provide an indication that perhaps Sagat’s Street Fighter II stage will join him in this new mash-up.
