Sony to Release 2 Games Per Month and Extend Time for Free Games on PlayStation Plus

In an effort to sabotage your spare time, Sony has announced its new plans to release two games per month on PlayStation Plus. John Koller announced the news on PlayStation’s official blog, which he states is in celebration of PlayStation Plus’s fourth year mile-stone. The new content schedule will take place next month, and it will affect PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 owners.

Koller also announced that the duration of each title will be extended thanks to the success of PlayStation Plus.

“Since we’ve seen how excited many of you are to download Instant Game Collection titles as soon as they’re available, we’ve decided to adjust the length of time each title will be available,” wrote Koller. “Starting in July, every title in the Instant Game Collection will be available the first Tuesday of the month, and will be free for the month, until the first Tuesday of the following month, taking the guesswork out of how long the game will be available for free.”

Finally, Sony discussed their upcoming June lineup, which includes titles such as:

  • Trine 2: Complete Story (PS4)
  • Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate (PS4)
  • NBA 2K14 (PS3)
  • Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3)
  • Terraria (PS Vita)
  • Mutant Mudds Deluxe (PS Vita)

It looks like it’s going to be a good two months for PlayStation Plus members. Even if these games don’t appeal to everyone, they’re sure to find at least two games they’ll like further down the line.
