The Vita Gets PlayStation Plus

The Vita Gets PlayStation Plus

Sony mentions during their Tokyo Game Show presentation that PlayStation Plus, the subscription service that gets PlayStation users tons of free games and cloud hosted game saves, will be making its way to the PlayStation Vita.

Current PS Plus subscribers will get a PS Vita Plus membership for free, while new subscribers on the Vita will immediately get PS3 PS Plus bonuses as well. PS Plus members will be able to transfer 1GB of PS3 saves and 1GB of PS Vita saves to the cloud, though these memory totals will be kept separate for both consoles.

The service will be available for $17.99 for three months or $49.99 for a year here in America. Japan will also have an option to pay for PlayStation Plus on a monthly basis, with a month’s subscription coming in at 500 yen.
