Runic Games has announced the release date for Torchlight II.
The Dungeon-crawling sequel will arrive on the PC come September 20 th , 2012.
Runic president Travis Baldree said on Torchlight II’s blog: “I don’t think there’s much else I could say that would interest you right now, so – the official release date for Torchlight II is Thursday, September 20th, 2012. Three weeks away!”
Torchlight II was originally due to launch in 2011 before the release of Diablo 3. However, it was delayed in order to allow Runic to apply extra polish.
Another reason for the game’s delay was due to the development time spent on the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game’s predecessor. That said, though, Runic has stressed that Torchlight 2 will be four times bigger than the original.
