Writer Reveals Details of Constantine

David Goyer, who got his start on movies like Blade and most recently wrote scripts for Batman and Superman, opens up regarding the planned Constantine series, which will see Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall behind the wheel.

Goyer states the core cast of the series is small, touting that: “We only have four series regulars but we’ve cast them all now. I’m proud to say that Constantine is actually being played by a British guy, Matt Ryan, and he is going to have blond hair.” He said.

Naturally, with Constantine being a “rough around the edges” kinda’ guy, smoking and drinking are traits that fans expect to see. In this age of political correctness, will corporate executives go for that kind of thing on their air ways? Goyer explains; “That’s a tricky one on network TV. We’re negotiating right now. He will have his signature trench coat and skinny tie. I would say that the show clings more closely to the source material than the film did. Even though the film was interesting.”

The show begins production on its pilot next week, which may see other DC characters making cameo appearances later in the series.
