Adventure Update Coming To Minecraft 360

Adventure Update Coming To Minecraft 360

None

According to 4J Studios, the first Minecraft Xbox 360 update will be the equivalent of the PC version’s Beta 1.7.3. This includes piston functionality, giving players yet more flexibility when building their fantasy pixelated dream worlds. However, according to a recent interview with OXM, this update is actually rather simple. Much trickier, though, is the update to version 1.8.2.

For those of you who don’t remember, 1.8 (and its various iterations) was colloquially called the “Adventure Update.” This update added an insane amount of new mobs, terrain features, and even gameplay mechanics. It also introduced Creative Mode, which essentially allows players complete creative freedom. It makes them invulnerable, gives them infinite blocks of every type, and allows them to fly. It’s the perfect thing for the person who simply wants to play with the Minecraft equivalent of a never-ending set of LEGOs.

Unfortunately, bringing new features over to the Xbox 360 Edition is not as simple as copy/pasting the code over from the PC version. The Xbox 360 uses an entirely different architecture, and patching an executable on a console has been said to be somewhat like pulling teeth… your own teeth… with a rusty clamp. Still, the team says it’s up for the challenge.
