Bioshock fans may have another reason to explore Rapture again thanks to the upcoming mobile port of the game. 2K will be bringing the port to the App Store this summer, and it will be compatible with iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad mini 2, iPhone 5C or iPhone 5S.
In order to bring the game to the App Store, 2K needed to cut some of graphical effects, hopefully without hopefully ruining Rapture ‘s demented charm. “We had to make some minor changes to the graphical features due to limitations of the hardware, such as removing dynamic shadows, or changing the way fog is displayed.” said 2K’s Brian Lowe.
It most likely will be difficult not to notice the graphical downgrade. However, 2K promises that this is a straight-forward port. If you’re not keen on shooting various plasmids at your enemy via touchscreen controls, then you should know that the mobile version of Bioshock will be compatible with an MFi controller.
