External Storage Teased for Xbox One

External Storage Teased for Xbox One

In an image that cropped up on Reddit, it was teased that Microsoft’s Xbox One will be receiving external storage support at some point in the future.

Titling the image under “ adding more hype on the list of things to come, ” Reddit user XboxOneDev, who is a confirmed Xbox One developer (funnily enough), revealed the teaser image a few days ago on Friday, May 16.

While the Xbox One already supports USB 3.0 to compensate for not having a removable hard drive, it seems that Microsoft may be distributing its own line of external hard drives for the Xbox one, be it your typical 2Tb USB drive or an actual external sibling to the console’s internal hard drive.

Microsoft has yet to come out and officially announce anything on the matter or when the functionality will be introduced to Xbox One. It’s likely that such an announcement may come either a little bit before or during this year’s E3 in June.
