Leisure Suit Larry Returning?

Leisure Suit Larry Returning?

None

In a statement issued on its website today, Replay Games announced that they have acquired the rights to the long-stagnant Leisure Suit Larry franchise, as well as the services of series creator and gaming-comedy legend Al Lowe. Replay’s first announced release from the license is a rerelease of the remake of the original Leisure Suit Larry: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards. What platform? Every platform they can, starting with mobile devices such as the iPad and Android tablets.

Leisure Suit Larry titles were traditional adventure games with a ribald sense of humor and a proliferation of sexual innuendo, following the exploits of Larry Laffer on a constant quest for money, attention, and women. Replay, in addition to bringing the existing series to the world of digital downloads, has also expressed interest in creating new escapades for Larry.

The original game infamously included a trivia-based age gate/copy protection, testing players on popular culture of the day to ensure that they were “of age” to enjoy the title. Will such “protection” work its way into the upcoming rerelease? Will the questions be updated to make them more timely? One can hope.
