Though a lot of titles planned for Q4 have been pushed to the 2011 schedule, it seems even 2011 isn’t immune to the delay disease. Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which was first shown off in 2009, has been removed from the 2011 schedule and is now slated for release in 2012. This delay is especially surprising as the game had a large presence at E3 2010, which would be typical for a game coming out in the next year. No reason was given for the delay, but the abrupt change in scheduling has led to murmurs about development issues. However, when you consider development time for much-anticipated Japanese games (like Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII), then the yearlong wait seems par for the course. ![]() |
