PS3 Trophies Under Fire

PS3 Trophies Under Fire

None

Recently, a group of hackers broke the security keys on the PS3, allowing it to run homebrew applications and pirated games. Sony is pursuing legal action.

Now, there is a homebrew app that unlocks all of the trophies in a game, giving each of them a random time stamp to hide the fact they were all opened at once. Sony’s response so far was the classic: “We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it. We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details.”

This app doesn’t work with every PS3 game, Batman: Arkham Asylum being one of the secure ones. But there are enough games vulnerable that this could jeopardize PS3’s entire trophy system.
