Game Rumors:

3D PS3’s

Do you remember 3D? Yeah sure you do, everyone does. Well what could make the PS3 more worth the $600 price tag for the 80GB? How about 3D Blu-ray technology? Ok, so that might be stretching it a bit. The folks at Mitsubishi seem to be working on a new Blu-ray player, capable of utilizing the fabled 3D graphics for viewers. The most impressive thing is the potential to switch between 2D and 3D on the fly. The potential for the PS3 to be the only console out there to have the return of 3D to movies with ease and incorporate this feature into games has certainly struck a heavy optical nerve in me.

Verdict: 3D glasses for everyone, I say

PS-Phone

Have you ever wished you could use your PlayStation Portable as a phone to call one of your friends? Better yet, have you ever wanted to have to pause a Final Fantasy game in order to answer a phone call? If you answered yes to any of those, it appears that you might have your wish sometime soon. Although nothing is solid at this moment, it does seem to be in the works. This is not to say that the new phone will be a rendition of the PSP, but will instead be something entirely different. That’s about all that there is on the subject at the moment, but when this “revolutionary” news is completely broken we’ll have more.

Verdict: Dude stop calling me, I’m in the middle of a boss battle!

Virtua Fighter missing the boat to Japan

Due to the low installed base in Japan it seems like the Xbox 360 version of the fifth Virtua Fighter has already said sayonara to its Japanese public. That is how it seems and the main culprits are the low sales figures of the 360 in that region. In fact, it has become something of debate as to which games are “imported” to Japan . I’m not sure if this will hold true for very long but for now no Virtua Kung Fu across the sea on the Xbox 360.

Verdict: Nobody was Kung Fu fighting on the Xbox 360 (in Japan )

A Night in 2008:

The revival of the Nights series was supposed to a momentous occasion. Several people have been awaiting this title. However, it does seem that a slip up at Sega is causing the title to get pushed into 2008. No official word on what is going on with the title but as soon as we know, we’ll give you the skinny.

Verdict: A Night in ’08 is as good as any
