From the Bizarre Happenings department comes the news that Sony will be shutting down the PlayStation Store and other related services in South Korea in order to comply with the nation’s “Game Industry Promotions Act.” The new law, which goes into effect on July 1, prevents services from asking persons of age 18 or under their real age or name as part of its account authentication. The PSN Store requires this, and since Sony won’t be able to fully address the issue before the 1st. they’re taking down the service entirely for the time being.
