Wii U Getting A Brand New Assassin’s Creed?

Wii U Getting A Brand New Assassin’s Creed?

None

In an interview released last week, Ubisoft Chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Assassin’s Creed on the Wii U will not be a port of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. The title, revealed to be in production at Nintendo’s E3 press conference last month, will most likely be an entirely new title.

Of note, the interview was translated from Swedish, and misconceptions have arisen from mistranslations in the past. However, Guillemot saying, “No, [it’s] not Revelations,” seems fairly straightforward and difficult to flub. There remains the possibility that the game will be a port of an earlier entry—or of multiple earlier entries in the series—to get Wii U owners caught up on the goings on of Desmond and his ancestors and the ongoing conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. After all, they’ll need to be prepared for Assassin’s Creed III (which is as of yet unannounced.)

Or perhaps the Wii U Assassin’s Creed is Assassin’s Creed III. Wouldn’t that be a stitch?
