In 1982, a Hanna-Barbera produced Pac-Man cartoon was introduced that attempted to pull in viewers stricken with Pac-Man fever. Although that disease has been in remission for nearly three decades now, it seems as though there is the potential for another outbreak in the near future. According to Kotaku, Namco Bandai’s Japanese website has listed a 26 episode Pac-Man television series due out in 2012.  What’s more, this new Pac-Man series will also be in full 3D. This listing is likely for the animated series mentioned at this year’s E3, the one being developed by former Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad. If so, expect to see a high school aged Pac-Man and his four ghost friends; Inky, Pinky, Blinky, and Clyde trying to save the world in 3D come 2012. |
