Battlefield 4 Server Issues Arise from a Distributed Denial-of-Service Attack

Battlefield 4 Server Issues Arise from a Distributed Denial-of-Service Attack

The PC version of Battlefield 4 was DDOS (distributed denial-of-service) attacked this weekend. The game was offline and unplayable for a good chunk of time. It is currently unclear who attacked the game’s servers or why, but DICE is hard at work trying to fix the situation. While many users have been able to connect to the game again at this point, some are still reporting connectivity issues.

Many users are also reporting issues with the PS4 version of Battlefield 4 , though this isn’t because of any DDOS attack. The game’s client simply crashes very frequently. DICE has said that they are aware of the issues and are working on rolling out a fix as soon as possible. In addition, they are also planning for a new Xbox 360 version patch as well, though what this will fix or change is currently unclear.
