How To Add More Columns In The Sims 4

The Sims 4 is like Minecraft. But, Instead of making these massive monolithic structures you actually channel that creativity into making virtual neighborhoods and avatars to live in them. The Sims series has been iterating on this concept for almost 30 years and it has garnered a very large fanbase. To meet the demand of this ever-growing fanbase, Maxis and EA released a wide array of extra expansions and extra content for players to play with.

One of the most important parts of The Sims 4 gameplay is creating your sim and with the many expansions, mods, and custom content this game supports it’s easy to build a massive collection. By default, during the creation process of your sim called Create-a-Sim, you only have two columns to scroll through and find the clothes and accessories you want. This isn’t ideal as you build your content library so this article will teach you how to add more columns for more customization freedom.

The More CAS Columns Mod

The More Columns in CAS mod by Weerbesu is one of the most popular mods in The Sims 4 community. This mod fixes the lack of columns problem easily and quickly. The mod allows the player to add more columns without any overly complicated settings.

How to Install The Mod

  • Scroll down to the bottom of Weerbesu’s Patreon post linked at the top of the section. You should find three package files. You can use whichever file you want but make sure you have a high enough resolution to fit them!
  • Find your mods folder. Usually, you can find the folder here :
    Windows : C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
Mac : My Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 4 \ Mods
  • Drag the downloaded package file into the mods folder. You only need one!
  • Launch the game and head into the game options setting. Turn on “enable custom content and mods” before restarting your game.

If you did everything right you should see a pop-up message showing your mods list. Next time you enter the Create-A-Sim menu, you should have the extra columns instead of the default two.

Warning

EA and Maxis do not officially support mods so use them at your own discretion. Every once and a while new updates come out that may break your mods. Sometimes the new updates will also disable the custom content and mods setting. If your mod isn’t working make sure to double-check that your “enable custom content and mods” setting is enabled.
