John Romero, the creator of Doom , is working on his first new shooter project in over 14 years. The last shooter he made was Daikatana and… well that wasn’t all that well received. Luckily, he is ready to get back in the game!
This news comes from an episode of the Super Joystiq Podcast. Romero said, “I haven’t made a shooter since 2000. So I’m basically starting to work on another one.” The game will be developed by Romero Studios, and will be made for platforms other than mobile development. Unfortunately, we don’t have much more information about the project, so we will have to just wait and see.
Romero has left the AAA gaming industry as of late to work on mobile and free to play games. It’s unclear whether or not this new shooter of his will also be free to play as well.
