Sony CEO Howard Stringer confirmed recently that a PlayStation “certified” tablet was in the works and will be available sometime this summer. The tablet will run the latest version of Android (Honeycomb) and will include unspecified PlayStation-related content. Although it is easy to think of this new tablet as an extension of the Xperia Play phone, Sony is keeping mum on exactly what kind of content will be coming to this “certified” tablet.  Keep in mind that several patent applications from the past year point to Sony developing its own tablet product, so it might be wise to hear about what exactly will be included with this new tablet before getting too excited. Hopefully it’s not just a logo-ed tablet, but you never know. When something is simply “certified” and isn’t developed internally, it could be cause for concern. |
